The Abaltat Muse product manager answers
questions on composing,
styles of music and MIDI technology. Does Abaltat Muse work with my NLE system? Can I use Abaltat Muse with my home movies or videos from my phone? Do I need to get clearance or pay royalties on my Abaltat compositions? How do I customize my soundtrack? In what formats can I export my soundtrack? Can I change moods to suit my video? How do I vary the sound of my compositions? I have encountered problems trying to download Abaltat’s Free Trial Versions. How do I get the best out of Abaltat Muse quickly? I am having problems with crackling audio in Muse. I already use GarageBand, why should I use Muse as well?
Yes. Abaltat Muse runs as a stand alone program which can import QuickTime files from any NLE system. To read how to export a QuickTime file from your chosen editing software click here. After exporting your QuickTime file you can drag and drop it onto the Abaltat Muse application and begin creating your customized soundtrack.Top of page ↑
Abaltat Muse and Express work with any video file that is in the QuickTime format. If the file that you would like to use is not a QuickTime file you can easily convert it using Appe's iMovie or one of the many QuickTime codecs. If you are using footage from your cellular phone, you can easily send it to your Mac via bluetooth and convert in the same way.
The Abaltat Muse interface resembles that of any editing application, utilizing shortcut keys and keyframes which will be familiar to any video editor. If you are not an editor there is a comprehensive Help file provided, explaining all features and also an email support system to help with any other queries ( support@abaltat.com ). There are also tutorials online which outline the entire workflow.
No. This is the great thing about Abaltat products. It is akin to having your own virtual instrument, and once you compose the music you have clearance to use it as you wish. There are no royalty payments as you are the composer.
First, you choose from the composition settings such as musical genre and tempo, and Abaltat Muse automatically composes a soundtrack based on your picture sequence. After this is complete you can change instruments, tonality (from major to minor, etc), transpose the melody up or down, pan from left to right, or change volumes on individual tracks. In this way you can find the perfect soundtrack to accompany your video.
Abaltat Muse and Abaltat Express compose five tracks - a main melody, a secondary melody, bass, drums and effects. These can be exported as WAV, AIFF and in MIDI, either all together or track by track. If you export a MIDI file this can be brought into some other MIDI editing software for additional work (such as Apple's GarageBand or Logic or Pro Tools by DigiDesign.
Yes. A few simple changes to Transposition or Scale (or a combination of both) can achieve musical mood changes and the type of musical feel that you are looking for. A simple example is to change the Scale from Standard to Alternate which will modify your previously composed soundtrack from upbeat to sad. Try different combinations out for your self for variety. |
