You can even create soundtracks for your photo slideshows, either straight from iPhoto or through iMovie. This offers you limitless possibilities for original music for your photos.

Workflow:

• Drag and drop QT file onto Express icon
• Press compose button
• Select a preset
• Select musical style, tempo, drum pattern, etc (optional)
• Press OK and a basic soundtrack is composed
• Add preferred instruments, change volumes, alter tone, and much more (optional)
• Export your soundtrack as audio (MIDI, AIFF, WAV) or as video (QuickTime)
• Import your MIDI file into GarageBand (or any other MIDI sequencer)
• Utilize the editing power of GarageBand to add or delete notes and phrases, insert loops or even record your own musical instrument parts or add sound effects to your already composed Express original royalty free soundtrack

Flexible Output

QuickTime export can be used for video uploads straight to the web, while AIFF and WAV files are useful for users of applications such as iMovie as these files can be mixed with video on the iMovie timeline. You can also export multiple tracks, even using different styles of music and import and mix them together in iMovie, or even in GarageBand.

Version 2.0 of Abaltat Express runs on Mac OSX.

Abaltat Express 2.0 composes soundtracks by applying musical rules and custom algorithms with advanced video recognition software. The video recognition software analyzes the video and supplies information about color and duration of the clip. Musical rules, contained within the user's selected Band, are then applied to this analysis. After the initial Compose, the user can perform further editing and arranging of the soundtrack via common keyframe events and keyboard commands. The final composition is always 100% royalty-free and can be used as-is, or, exported for further editing and recording in any modern Digital Audio Workstation application.

The video is imported as a QuickTime file and the finished compositions can be exported as .AIFF or .WAV files, as MIDI files or as QuickTime. The Abaltat Express playout works with Mac's own soundcard or with the standard editing third party cards such as Blackmagic.
