"I am happy with this software right out of the box. It reminds me of how Adobe Photoshop started - only Abaltat Muse is Photoshop for music" Jim Arthur, Chicago Muse gave me exactly what I wanted I confess I dithered about buying Abaltat Muse - it seemed expensive for a program I didn't really need. After all, I had GarageBand which has a lot of loops, and all I wanted to do was make generic soundtracks for very short animated panoramas. Even a Bear of Very Little Brain who can barely pick out "The Rattling Bog" with one finger should be able to manage that, right? Wrong! Composition is hard, especially when one hasn't studied music. So I downloaded the trial version of Muse and gave it a whirl. Next morning I dug out my credit card - Muse gave me exactly what I wanted: simple background music that matched the video track. I'm still learning the program and haven't progressed much beyond fading instruments in and out (and changing MIDI instruments in GarageBand), so when a colleague who teaches MIDI composition told me that some of the videos had great background music, I should give all the credit to Muse! Robert Prior (see Robert's work on Flickr - ) Professional soundtracks I bought this and it paid for itself with a project I was working on. Get this if you need professional soundtracks. The one (of many) advantage this has to DigitalJuice tracks is it can fit the length of the video, instead of just 3 minute soundtracks that would otherwise need to be pasted together in DJ audio products Harringg – commenting on discussion forum on Macupdate Excellent software Just wanted to drop you a line to tell you how very impressed I am by the demo version of Abaltat Muse, I shall be purchasing a full version soon. We are a small visual media company operating from studios in Athens and depend on a very tight budget. We depend on excellent software to do the job described ‘on the box’. Abaltat does what it states and does it above and beyond any of our team’s expectations. Sergio Martone, Athens Thank you for such a fantastic product! I just experimented with your software and it is totally amazing – beyond my expectations. I am not a musician, yet I was able to compose a song with your software (in minutes) and then put it into garage band (which I am also just beginning to use) and muck about for about half an hour. I don’t know how a professional musician would critique it, but I found it very exciting, especially in the possibilities it opens up. It is only my first experiment after all. The video was taken on St. Patrick’s Day in Chicago. My hats off to you and thanks so much for such a fantastic product! Jim Arthur, Chicago Very highly recommended I own it and really like it. Those of you thinking it’s “easy” to do this with GarageBand or other “free” tools are underestimating the difficulty of creating original scores. Not only can this give you reasonable music with no effort, you can then import it into GarageBand or another editor to further develop it. Very highly recommended, especially at $99 Jeff Boldt – commenting on discussion forum on Macupdate Been looking for this a long time Abaltat Muse 2.0 sounds and looks like it’s just the right music editor form iMovie. Been looking for this a long time Itlgems – commenting on discussion forum on Macupdate Incredibly fun This is an incredibly fun program to use. It really does “sync” your musical scores to your edited video with amazing accuracy! Give it a try! The price is very attractive at $99! Thanks for the great Promo MUpro! Mkm123 – commenting on discussion form on Macupdate Abaltat Beat...a truly useful tool...two thumbs up This a very useful application for video editors and anyone attempting to accurately match soundtracks to video cuts for a more aesthetic effect. Essentially, you have to start with an editing decision list (EDL), and the program calculates the best fit based on beats per minute (BPM) a choice of time signatures. I think this is a truly useful tool for those who wish to save a lot of time fitting sound tracks over video and are tired of using the old (time consuming) trial-and-error method. Obviously, if you’re writing soundtrack/background music yourself, and editing this to video, you wouldn’t need this. However, if you’re going the other way around (that’s most of us), and trying to fit royalty-free/stock music tracks over footage, this is a nice tool than can potentially save the production artist a lot of precious time. Two Thumbs Up…and hey, you can’t b-e-a-t this price! Iamdorian – commenting on Abaltat Beat discussion forum on Macupdate
